Reviews for BELMONT HALL CAMPING, GREAT BUDWORTH

This has got to be one of the best CL/campsites we have ever stayed on. Large pitches, spotlessly clean toilets and showers. Access to washing machine if required. In a really nice countryside setting, great walks and a short stroll to a cozy pub with lovely food and drinks. The on site warden is very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back!

Showers and toilets are kept very clean if a little tired, and would struggle to cover everyone if the site was busy. Pitches are generally level and some with views of the large lake and are fully serviced. No person to person contact on site, only via internet or phone. Access lane could do with some attention as lots of potholes. Great walks in the area, try the ice-cream at Great Budworth, delicious.

Great views of the ponds and lakes, spoiled by over zealous wardens who made the rules up as they went along. There is a washing machine available to use but no provision to dry the washing. When we pointed this out, the answer was not our problem. The site rules stated that no noise after 10.30pm, yet when we took our 11 month old puppies for a walk at 8pm, we were told that that they had to be quiet. The warden even commented that it was ok for us to make a racket, but not our puppies. We won't be using this site again, which is a pity, because other than the wardens, it was a nice, safe place.

When we booked this site we made it clear that we have two young adolescent Border collie dogs that where vocal (so they are still under training.) We have followed all the site rules even when we where told by a blonde haired women that they could come off their leads in the fields where there was no cattle we still kept them on their leads. We followed all rules as stated in their teams and conditions. We picked up as expected we where considerate. But that's not enough. We didn't complain about the noise made by other guests and there dogs barking but because one of my dogs is over protective and extremely excited when going for a walk we are branded as disruptive. We where told off at 20.30 on one day for dogs barking even though the site rules state that it is a quiet site after 22.30. We where accused of being disruptive at 23.25 at night due to barking except we where not even on site then we had gone for a walk with the boys to the next village.but it's ok for other people's dogs to be barking day and night people to scream and shout all over the site. My boys get blamed for making a noise even when they are asleep. It just so happens that our van is also an American motor home. The site makes its up as they go along . They are confrontational, they alleged that they had complaints but never came to speak to us instead they our challenging, change the rules to suit themselves and the masses . This appeared to be a nice site very basic but nice for the money but how wrong was I will not want to be staying again.

Went here with family. The pitches were a good size. There is only 1 shower. Which needs a little TLC. Toilets also need TLC. ||The wardens who walk around seemed pretty pleasant at first, always said hello. Then we had an issue day 2 of …

On arrival there was an issue with our pitch. We came with a tent and were allocated hard standing pitch. Pitch was changed straight away, no problem, mistakes happen. The site has gone through a lot of changes over the last 12 months or so, seems to us the owners would rather cater for caravans and MHs than tents which is a big shame for us. Facilities are getting a bit tired, one shower has a mouldy ceiling with a faulty fan (hence the condensation), rusty radiator and hangers, second is easy to overflow due to poor shower installation. Both radiators were on and very hot in 29 degrees heat outside. Not the greatest temperature to take a shower. On the first night at around 9:30pm we were visited by the wardens to collect the remaining money, a bit odd time if you ask me, also I wasn’t decent when they arrived so a tad embarrassing too. On the second night we were informed the campfire has to be finished by 10pm the latest. When we question that we were told this is not personal but the attempt to control the noise at the campsite. We camp all over UK and beyond and we know how to behave on a campsite. I’m 45 years old adult and I don’t need to be told how long I can keep the fire on, especially in a summer months when it’s not even getting dark till 9pm! We felt restricted in our pitch with caravans each side and taken by surprise by the new rules. It used to be one of our favourite campsites, sadly it is not anymore.

Our first time out in our Motorhome and we decided to use a local site to test it out. Couldn't have chosen better. Site is easy to find and has a good entrance off a main road. The access road is a bit bumpy but manageable. The site has a number if plots all reasonably priced and a mixture of hard and grass. Suitable for all unit types. Facilities are rustic but ample for toilets and showers also including a washing machine. We wanted a quiet area after our assigned plot got a little noice from other campers and the wardens were happy to accommodate, unfortunately, on moving I damaged my stabilising legs. With the help of fellow campers we managed to remove them and Chris one of the wardens very kindly took them away and straightened them. Such accommodating and service focused guys thankyou for helping rescue our first outing that could have been such a disaster. Nearby activities: Easy drive close to Arley Hall, Marbury Park and Anderton boat lift with some excellent walks. Further afield is Northwich town, Warrington and Chester. Walkability: Located close to a couple of public houses and near farmland.

We had a lakeview fully serviced pitch, very peaceful site. Could do with more facilities in the toilet block, only 2 toilets and one shower in the ladies, saying that, I never had to queue though, I believe it to be the same in the gents side. The pitches aren't very level, so remember to have some ramps with you. The view towards the lake was very nice, surrounded by trees.

First time here on a fully serviced pitch .Pitch 23 is a great size and gets a lovely amount of sun in the afternoon and into the evening. The site itself is okay, has access to fishing and is easy to find.|Sadly, the toilet and shower …
